Cruel Hand in Lakewood

An American hardcore punk band from Portland, Maine, “Cruel Hand” band composes an electric blend of styles that embodies anything but the serenity of their surroundings. Formed in the year 2006, Cruel Hand's sound is equal parts New York hardcore and west coast thrash, all with a twist of their own. With five years of heavy touring and three LPs under their belt, the new decade will see “Cruel Hand” continue to mature and live up to their hard earned road reputation. Their fresh release, 2010’s "Lock and Key”, was considered as the most refined till date release and since then there is no looking back for the band. With a freshly solidified lineup and indisputable live show, expect to see them in your corner of the world soon.

This time Cruel hand is all set to rock the stage at Lakewood City on January 20, 2016
Wednesday 7:00 PM onwards at 13000 Detroit Avenue Lakewood, Ohio 44107. The tickets are priced at $12- 14, and you can book your seat at www.ticketfly.com. Hire a Cleveland taxi services, or Lakewood  taxi services to make way to the event venue in time.

Cruel Hand was originally formed as a side project of the punk band outbreak, thus creating an opportunity for band members to play different instruments. The year 2007, marked the release of their debut album Without a Pulse, on 6131 Records. They played shows around the U.S. with Trash Talk and The Mongoloids, touring the United States three times and a full European tour. The band also signed with Bridge 9 for their second album, Prying Eyes, which was recorded at Getaway Recording Studios and God City Studios in 2008.  Under their own title, the band released 7" EP in 2010, featuring a song from their third album, Lock & Key and an unreleased track. Cruel hand is greatly influenced by the Cro-Mags, early Metallica, and Madball, and are often compared to now defunct Toronto band No Warning. Lock & Key was recorded in Wakefield, MA with producer Jay Maas (Verse, Bane, Defeater) and highlights what Cruel Hand is capable of both lyrically and musically. In the words of the vocalist Chris Linkovich, “ Lock& Key is definitely not a 'Prying Eyes Part 2'. It's not just a progression either, we feel like this is our defining release. We weren't scared to bring all of our influences to the table, no matter what the genre of music. We spent a lot more time with guitar sounds, a lot of layering and melody and other second guitar work. As far as lyrics, I reached my goal of working with a lot of different subject matters and also using a little bit of melody with different vocal patterns and delivery. The record is ill and we listen to it every day.”

Coming straight out of Maine, Cruel hand will be earning their place at the top of the hardcore heap. Since the release of Cruel Hand’s Bridge Nine debut, Prying Eyes in 2008, the band has been a relentless touring machine and one of the tightest bands in the hardcore world. Cruel Hand has shared the stage with bands like Have Heart, Bane, Terror, Death Before Dishonor, and more, and will continue to tour the globe non-stop in support of Lock & Key. So be on the lookout and stay tuned to this band to have a time of your life.

Ratner School Book fair in Beachwood

The primary goal of any school, education community, or  parent groups is to inculcate the habit of reading in children. And organising book fair is one of the popular ways of getting children to read. Though book fairs also help in raising money for any social cause, but its main goal is to impart literacy. Getting kids to read  in itself is the primary motivation for book fairs and it takes a lot of efforts and focus on making sure that children are reading, and thus developing a healthy habit towards books.

Running a successful book fair that can get kids excited about reading new things takes more efforts than fixing on event date and venue. Organise, Publicise, merchandise , interest and fun are the key points to get more and more kids interested in books and book fairs. A successful book fair needs a proper planning and marshalling volunteers. The event organisers need to coordinate with teachers, librarians, or reading specialists to understand what types of books can interest a particular age group of children and thus finalising on the curriculum and theme for the book fair.

Understanding the need and importance of reading in the growth and development of kids, The Lilian and Betty Ratner School organised“Barnes and Noble Book Fair” on Thursday, Dec 3rd, 2015, between 5-9pm. The event started with a story time at 5pm, thereafter Jungle terry at 6pm , Crafts and others activities at 7pm and Face painting and games from 7:30pm onwards. The event witnessed kids and other participants in the true Ratner spirit. The percentage of purchase from the book fair was given to the Ratner Parent Organisation and the Ratner School Library. Ratner School book fair was all about raising funds to support the library, while having a great time with friends and family at Barnes and Noble. Hire a Cleveland Hts taxi services, or Beachwood taxi services to make way to the event venue in time.

Book fairs can be a successful and an interesting event if its a family affair too. Schools should encourage parents participation by organising it during parent conferences or open house in the evening. You can also look for having a special occasion with a dinner or other social gatherings. Schools can also use the family book fairs a way to create community at school or to hold workshops giving parents tips on how to get kids read more.

We believe, that book fairs are one of the best ways to engage students and motivate them to read. For this the best way is to increase parents and faculty participation at your school, and help kids in need. This can also be done by inviting teachers to an exclusive event where they can browse through the event, select the right books for their school library and make a wishlist accordingly. Sometimes achieving the reading goal can become an ultimate challenge when the educators agree to grant a privilege to the students who meet or exceed them. The educators and schools can team up with their students to plan the best book fair ever. They will learn the valuable skills, while getting creative with their peers. Call to arrange for a Shaker Heights taxi services, or Bedford Heights taxi services and make yourselves comfortable to reach the event venue.
